Monday, 16th Sep 2013 22:29 by Clive Whittingham

Andrew Madley, whose brother Robert is also on the Football League list, gets his first QPR appointment on Wednesday as Brighton visit Loftus Road.

Referee >>> Andrew Madley (West Yorkshire), third year as a Football League referee, joining his brother Robert on the list.

Assistants >>> Wade Norcott (Essex) and Dean Treleaven (West Sussex)

Fourth Official >>> Christopher O’Donnell (Bedfordshire)

History

This is Madley’s first ever QPR or Brighton appointment.

Stats

Madley has been busy this season with eight appointments so far across all three divisions and the League Cup. He’s shown 23 yellows and a red in those matches (2.875 yellows a game) with five bookings in the Burton v Fulham cup tie — that went all the way through extra time to penalties — his biggest haul in a single game so far. The red card went to Tranmere’s Danny Holmes during a 2-1 defeat at Crewe.

Last season he showed 106 yellows and three reds in 38 games (2.789 bookings a game). That included seven yellows in Yeovil’s 0-0 draw at home to Notts County in League One, his biggest haul of cards in a single game that season.

He showed 72 yellows and four reds in 28 appointments in 2011/12, which was his first season on the league list.

Other Listings

Championship >>> Two Premier League referees drop down for second tier action in this midweek round of games: Phil Dowd has Forest v Middlesbrough, Neil Swarbrick takes Reading v Leeds on Wednesday. Looking further ahead to Saturday it’s our old chum Gavin Ward in charge of our trip to Yeovil. Lots and lots o him on Thursday.
